it’s been a pretty long time without any updates. in short, the 7 months between april 2010 - december 2010 was a hard, busy and somehow educational period for me. it was my first significant professional job. i’ve worked as a graphic designer in an award winning youth marketing agency, youth republic. professional life is completely different from previous times of my graphic design experience. i was the graphic designer of youth republic digital, kind of a branch of youth republic which specializes in digital marketing (mostly social media marketing). in agencies, every work proceeds so fast and you don’t work for yourself, but customers. for me, that was hard to get used to. designing for digital marketing and involving in team meetings, contacting with customers (there were some big companies like monster, akbank, sabancı holding, ülker, vodafone, pizza hut, kfc, mey) were important experiences for me. i am thankful to all my ex co-workers for helping me adapting and have a good time.
besides all of these, sometimes i’ve felt so choked without being able to do what/how i want so i quit the job. i’m gonna try myself with applying to postgraduate courses in england before it is too late (otherwise, nonsense military duty is waiting for me in december 2011). so, it is a tough challenge but i have to try and move on.

2009_ data visualization
it can be considered as a framework, a very first step for a software/application. through this visualization, one can simply compare the types, sizes, file amounts and the usages of the files in the hard disk.

2009_ last project of my undergraduate years.* the course was advance typography. we were asked to design a booklet with a specific concept that presents a randomly assigned typeface and show all of that font family. my typeface was franklin gothic, and unfortunately its best known usage is in the film “rocky”. worst of all, my instructor was a rocky fan. and worst of all again, i haven’t seen a single rocky film before. it was a hard job to watch rocky series and embed this concept into a franklin gothic booklet. i am uploading three pages of the booklet.
* this is not my graduation project. graduation project was done before this one. it is an application which works properly in mac computers. i have to do some serious work on it to be able to share here. shortly, it’s a real-time interactive audio visualisation application.

2009_ deerhunter intro
motion graphics project. we were asked to make a video which consists of at least three different styles. this one includes drawing, stop motion, collage and video footage. i like this one, except the video parts (it’s a bit long and boring). deadlines make my world a bitter place.

2009_ be kind and rewind opening title
motion graphics project. we were asked to make an opening for a film we chose, but using original scenes from the film was not allowed. video quality is not good, i don’t like this “one night wonder” project anyway.
